Aftermath

A presentation that acknowledges and addresses the largely unknown and often underestimated effects of client suicide and/or homicide on the helping professional.

Informs participants of common responses (including effects on the professional and on client- care) and processes Healers experience following the tragedy, acknowledging the struggle of grieving and processing vs. professional practice and responsibilities. Practical recommendations are offered, based on experience and actual interviews, for what is healthy, effective, and helpful following a client tragedy – avoiding harmful effects to one’s self-concept and practice as a professional. This workshop also addresses issues that arise, such as post-tragedy confidentiality and other ethical/administrative concerns.
